Volunteer Opportunities

Why not consider the donation of time?  YWCA is always looking for willing and compassionate volunteers!

Hidden Treasures

Program Room Organizer: Mondays and Wednesdays, 10am - 2pm
Donation Sorter - Flexible days, minimum 3 hours/week

'Hidden Treasures' is a free program designed to help women and children with basic needs, such as clothing, personal items and household items, which are donated by the community. Volunteers then organize the donated items into sections in a store-like atmosphere. We're looking for volunteers to help sort and organize the donations, as well as maintain our program room.

*This volunteer opportunity is great for groups! Volunteer as a group (up to 6 people) on a regular, or one-off basis.

Junior GirlSpace (Ages 8 - 12): Wednesdays 4:00-6:00pm (during academic year)

YWCA GirlSpace reaches out to girls with quality programming addressing key social issues facing young women. GirlSpace fills the need for girl-only extra-curricular community programs, offering girls the opportunity to increase their awareness about violence and its root causes, while exploring self, personal achievements, building on positive self-esteem and making new friends. Volunteers help facilitate programs and act as a role model for youth.

Event Volunteers

The YWCA puts on a number of fun and exciting events and fundraisers. These positions are perfect for volunteers who want to help a few times a year, and may not have the schedule to allow for weekly scheduled volunteering. Check the Events page to see what's coming up next!
